We love installing synthetic slate and shake roofing. However, that's a very slick material that allows snow to slide easily. So, we encourage customers to integrate a snow retention system with their new synthetic roof. We like both the look and performance of the Rocky Guard from Rocky Mountain Snow Guards. This bracket is strong and also visually appealing on synthetic slate and shake roofs.

We use this service on every project that we quote snow retention for. We love that you guys design the system for the area snow loads and the characteristics of the specific structure. Every building is different and unique. With this service, we leave the design up to the experts. Rocky Mountain Snow Guards provides detailed specs and layouts, plus instructions, which are crucial to install the snow retention system properly.

What's the most challenging and interesting roofing project you've done where a snow retention system was involved?

Definitely the Sunrise Ridge Condos in Big Sky, Montana. The project consists of 23 buildings, which are two- and four-unit structures. We installed DaVinci Multi-Width Shake roofing on each building. Plus we installed copper snow brackets on the DaVinci shakes and then copper snow fences on a copper standing seam roof section.
